The eye of the storm

The New Moon in Pisces is the eye of the storm on March 18th. This is a very special New Moon that calls us towards peace. Pisces is the master of the liminal world, the place where we pause before moving. It is also the realm of feelings. This is the New Moon to take in the last quiet spaciousness of winter.

Pisces is the last sign before the Astrological New Year which is 0 degrees Aries, or Spring Equinox. Pisces is the wise, old, one that has seen all and but stays humble and pauses before rushing in. It is also the sign of the hermit, who needs solitude. The New Moon in Pisces is a time of reflection and honoring of quiet time.

This New Moon is a very important in-breath as it takes place a few days before March Equinox and Mercury going direct after 3 weeks retrograde in Pisces. When this happens on the 20th, life will come rushing in with a gush of energy. And I mean GUSH!

This puts even greater emphasis on the Sun and Moon sitting quietly together in Pisces, holding space for rest, creativity and reflection. It is a potent time to contemplate on the year gone by. This is not a time to reflect on conquests of goals but on how much we gave of ourselves.

How kind were we? Did we take care of ourselves and others?

Where could we love more? Or less?

Did we put our love and attention in the places we want to nurture and grow? If not, where do you want to put your energy this next year?

Uranus the planet of revelation, is in a harmonious aspect (sextile) with the New Moon and Sun so in this sacred eye of the storm, there is potent epiphany for us…. If we listen. Neptune is also influencing this New Moon, so the opportunity for spiritual connection is powerful!

This takes intention to hear this quiet inner voice that we normally steam roll over with our busy lives. It won’t be hard, if you carve out the space, to sink into the Pisces ocean of peace. The world is rattling its sabers but peace is always within reach, if we practice.

Commune and trust in the process and in Spirit, however that looks for you. Read poetry, listen to sublime music, do ecstatic dance and create art are a few magical ways to embrace this potent New Moon.
